Strong southerly winds reaching 8 to 9 Beaufort in many sea areas have disrupted ferry services on Thursday, according to the Hellenic Coast Guard.

According to the Hellenic Coast Guard port authority, only ferry routes to the Dodecanese are operating from the port of Piraeus, while all other routes to other island areas have been temporarily suspended.

Routes serving the Saronic Gulf are also not operating until further notice.

The situation was similar in the port of Rafina. The routes to the Cyclades islands are not being operated, while a ban on departure from the port of Lavrio remained in force.

The ferry lines Faneromeni Salamis-Megara, Nea Stira-Agia Marina, Keramoti-Thassos, Corfu-Igoumenitsa, Rio-Antirrio and Kyllini-Zakynthos were also out of service on Thursday.

Passengers intending to travel on Thursday are advised to contact the local port authorities and travel agencies before their departure in order to be informed of any changes or modifications to ferry schedules.
