Papastavrou: EYDAP is and will remain public

Environment and Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou, participated on Tuesday in the 41st electoral and regular congress of the Federation of Athens Water Supply & Sewerage Company S.A.(EYDAP) Employees. During his address, he emphasised that the company recently celebrated a century of existence and successful progress, thanks to the dedication and hard work of EYDAP’s personnel.

According to an official statement, Papastavrou referred to the public character of EYDAP, stressing that "one thing is certain: EYDAP is-and will remain-public, and this is non-negotiable. And since it hasn’t been that many years and we all remember the story, it was Kyriakos Mitsotakis who brought EYDAP back into public ownership-it was the New Democracy government, and I personally, who refused to allow it to be transferred to the Growthfund. And in the public sector it shall remain."
