Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis said the government will continue to support households against inflation, during a briefing the press on Monday.

"We will actively support households for as long as the imported inflation crisis persists, so that every family table can have the necessary foodstuffs at the lowest possible prices. It is the government's priority to use every available tool in order to hold or reduce prices for the benefit of consumers," he said.

He also added that, according to the development ministry and after price checks for 40 basic fruit and vegetables, prices have dropped for 23 products, there has been a price increase in 10, while the price remained the same for another seven. "This downward trend proves that the government's interventions with respect to the supply chain, especially the 'net price from field to shelf' measure have brought results," he said.

He also announced that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will attend an event for the delivery of a section of the E65 motorway on Tuesday 23 April. On Wednesday, Mitsotakis will attend a Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Ministry event on the presentation of the project "Aegis".
