No 'civil war' in SYRIZA-PA, main opposition party sources say

"There is no 'civil war' in SYRIZA as this would require two opposing sides," sources at the main opposition party's headquarters stated on Wednesday, adding that SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance "does not engage in any dialogue with specific cadres whose statements and political stance in general are contrary to the party charter in principle and damaging for the Left."
They noted that SYRIZA has a united front against the Right, and "continues to battle against the Right and the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, whose policies are driving more and more sections of Greek society into the spectrum of impoverishment."
"No one and nothing can stop the united and renewed SYRIZA from waging this struggle with all its strength, with the protagonists being all its members, the progressive citizens and all social forces that seek an end to the antisocietal Mitsotakis policies," the same sources said.
They said that the idea of a "civil war" in SYRIZA-PA was being "cultivated by foreign centres and opposing political forces" and "maintained by the statements of isolated cadres acting in ways contrary to the party's charter "who have placed themselves outside SYRIZA because they have already initiated plans for a new party, with a new charter and a new leader."
