In a statement regarding the measures announced by the government for the primary sector, PASOK asserted that it had "rebranded old measures, delayed payments, and accounting tricks as supposedly new support for rural income."

PASOK also said that, "using an artificial and misleading total, it presented as rural income support any kind of expenditure relating to the Greek countryside, regardless of whether it is actually directed at producers."
