The Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during Wednesday afternoon’s meeting of the Government Council for Economic Policy, emphasised that, a few days before presenting the main pillars of economic policy at TIF, he and Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis had decided to present the country’s overall extroversion agenda.
" I think it is a coherent plan which strengthens the presence of Greek products and services in international markets, while also attracting foreign investment to our country,” he said.
The Greek premier noted that over the past five years there has been a significant increase in exports of products and services, from 72.5 billion euros in 2019 to almost 100 billion euros in 2024.
During the meeting, the national extroversion strategy was approved. It consists of five pillars of intervention:
1. Transformation of Enterprise Greece into an integrated extroversion hub to provide specialised services and promote sectors in which Greece has advantages. The active involvement of the private sector is being encouraged. Concurrently, innovative initiatives are being introduced, including " Greek Houses” and " byGreece”, a unified marketplace designed to facilitate the promotion of exporters, as well as " myGreece”, which will highlight certified quality products that meet specific standards.
2. Reform of Export Credit Greece, with an emphasis on short-term credit insurance and factoring.
3. Establishment of a governmental committee for extroversion to promote exports more effectively through better coordination of the relevant ministries.
4. Five-year extroversion plan 2026-2030, anticipated to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2026.
5. Additional actions include the Extroversion of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises programme, the new Hellenic Aid humanitarian and development assistance framework, the Extroversion Observatory, and the Export Academy.
