A civil protection emergency has been declared in the area of Voutes in Heraklion, Crete, where fissures have recently appeared in houses, the church, and the playground. 

As stated in a relevant announcement after a decision by the Secretary General of Civil Protection, the municipal community of Voutes was declared in a state of emergency " to address emergency needs and manage the consequences of the intense landslides that occurred in the last 24 hours”. 

The measures will be in force for one month.
