Main opposition PASOK-Movement for Change Nikos Androulakis on Monday toured the city of Arta. "Without regional development, we are heading to stagnation and ultimately to decline. This is not worthy of our homeland, it is not worthy of the Greek people," he said in statements.
Referring to local problems Androulakis insisted on strengthening the University, addressing the difficulties at the hospital and implementing land improvement projects."The problems are many and the Greek people must immediately choose another political force. A political force that will be close, next to the citizen, next to the problems of the society. "We must leave from the current stagnation, to which the New Democracy government has condemned our country. That is why we are fighting in every corner of Greece for progressive political change as soon as possible. This is our goal to truly bring justice to the families of these people, who lost their lives so unjustly."
Asked about the Tempi tragedy, Mr. Androulakis stated: "For me, those who are trying to instrumentalize Tempi on both sides are wrong. There is a very big tragedy here. A tragedy for which the people took to the streets demanding justice and truth". "We", he stressed, "took institutional initiatives, with the two preliminary examination committees for Karamanlis - which New Democracy refused - and Triantopoulos, which it was forced to accept due to the pressure of public opinion, as well as with the two motions of no confidence to push in this direction: oxygen of truth and justice. We are not looking at anything else."
