Ferries docked due to gale-force winds

A sailing ban was in force in many sea areas on Tuesday, due to the gale-force winds blowing in the Ionian and Aegean Seas, which according to the Hellenic Meteorological Service will reach up to 8-9 Beaufort in some locations. Gradual weakening of the strong winds is expected from the afternoon.

According to the Coast Guard, the Arkitsa-Edipsos, Kavala-Prinou Thasos line was closed, while on the Keramoti-Limenas Thasos line, the routes were operated only by the ship "Anax".

A sailing ban was also imposed on the Alexandroupoli-Samothrace, Rio-Antirrio line, while on the Kyllini-Kefalonia line, the routes were operated only with a log entry from the captain.

Shipping routes out of the ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio were operating as normal.

Passengers intending to travel on Tuesday are being advised to contact the local port authorities and tourist agencies before their departure in case of any changes or modifications to the routes.
