Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis, in an interview with Athens 984 radio, discussed Greece's readiness to evacuate Greek citizens from Lebanon and Israel, as well as handling a potential surge in migration flows.
"We witnessed an escalation which as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we unequivocally condemn. We stand by the people of Israel in their right to live in security. However, from the very beginning, we have emphasized that the key focus of Greece’s foreign policy is de-escalation and the protection of civilians on all sides. This has been repeatedly stressed by the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister and all relevant government officials," Μarinakis said.
He referred to the full mobilization of the state mechanism regarding the fire in Corinth and reiterated the government's condolences for the loss of two lives.
When asked about the Parthenon Sculptures, Marinakis emphasized that the issue concerns their reunification, not their return.
