Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis paid a visit to the indoor gym of the high school of Nea Penteli on Tuesday, prior to chairing a meeting in Penteli with regional officials on restoration after the East Attica fire.

The gym was damaged by the fire and will be restored gratis by the GEK-Terna construction company. A representative of the company briefed the prime minister on the plans for the restoration, which is expected to be completed in six months. All other damage sustained by school facilities in the Municipality of Penteli will be restored by the start of the coming academic year.

Mitsotakis then paid a visit to the Penteli Monastery, and spoke with Fire Department officials and volunteers there. Following that, he also paid a visit to the National Observatory of Athens facilities on Penteli mountain, where he was briefed on fire-prevention measures.
