Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Stefanos Kasselakis on Monday posted a video of his visit to the "Perpato" association in Komotini, in which he plays wheelchair basketball with its team and also touches on the problems faced by people with disabilities.

"At the Perpato association in Komotini I played basketball with the athletes of Irodotos. They train daily after work, smashing through the obstacles of the state. People with soul, people that are visible," he said. He also referred to his discussion with Paralympics champion and leader of the Greek team at the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, Alex Taxildaris, as well as the great work done by Perpato, "an association that stands in for an indifferent, non-inclusive state".

"A government of empty advertising. The 'personal assistant' they advertised has not been extended to the regional areas, leaving so many people and so many families unaided. I am leaving with the promise that all this will change. With a modern state that provides protection for everyone, so that we can regain our dignity and pride," Kasselakis said.
