A fire broke out in an area of mixed forest and farm land in Vravrona, in the Attica municipality of Markopoulo, earlier on Monday, burning low vegetation.

The fire was quickly placed under partial control, without posing any threat to settlements in the area.

A total of 38 firefighters with one ground team and 15 vehicles were operating to put out the fire, assisted by two helicopters. Volunteer firefighters and local authority water tankers were also participating in the effort.
