"The era of lawlessness without consequences in universities is over," Minister of Education, Religion and Sports Kyriakos Pierrakakis said on Tuesday, speaking to MEGA TV.

Regarding bullying in schools, Pierrakakis referred to the electronic platform that will soon go online: "High school parents and students will be able to file complaints about what is happening. The initial management of such incidents will be done within schools, while for more serious incidents there will be other expert committees that will take charge."

"In the context of dealing with bullying, five-day suspensions will also be reinstated, as well as the distinction between justified and unjustified absences, while there are plans to facilitate a change in school environment for bullies in special cases," he added.

The education minister also referred extensively to the interest that has been shown so far by foreign universities in establishing and operating branches in Greece and reiterated the strong interest of Greek academics working abroad in encouraging their universities to examine this prospect.
