Greek inflation at 2.9% in February, ELSTAT says

The consumer price index rose 2.9% in February 2024 compared with 3.1% in January and 6.1% in February 2023, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said on Friday.
Thw slowdown is due to the continued decline in energy prices (eg natural gas 52%). On the contrary, the prices of food and food increased at a rate more than twice that of the general index, with olive oil rising 63.7%.
The average CPI for the twelve-month period from March 2023 to February 2024, compared with the corresponding index for the period March 2022 to February 2023 increased by 2.9%. The annual rate of change of the average CPI between the twelve-month period March 2022 to February 2023 in comparison to the period March 2021 to February 2022 stood at 9.6%.
