"A prime minister who, in a [recent] interview, said that 'the difficulties regarding high prices are behind us', is far removed from the painful reality the Greek people experience. He is prime minister of a virtual reality. Not everything can be done simply for communication's sake," opposition PASOK-Movement of Change leader Nikos Androulakis said to Mega TV on Thursday.

Androulakis pointed to "an asymmetry in the political system" and called on the Greek people ahead of the European elections "to respond to this asymmetry and give us the strength to be not only the main opposition party, but a strong main opposition."

"So that a barrier can be raised against the frivolity, failures and wrong policies of ruling New Democracy. It is crucial for the quality of our democracy and for the proper functioning of our political system that PASOK is very strong in the next European elections," he underlined.
