An 18-year-old youth arrested on Sunday for seriously injuring a police officer with a flare was brought before a Piraeus examining magistrate on Monday. The suspect, who has confessed to his actions, requested an extension to prepare his testimony and was given until Thursday at 11:00. 

The incident took place at the 'Melina Mercouri' sports arena in the Rentis neighbourhood of Piraeus, during sports violence that resulted in the questioning of 424 people over the injury of three police officers, one of whom, 31, remains in intensive care.
