"Problems have neither colour nor party, but the responsibilities have a specific colour and party, Mr. Mitsotakis," the leader of opposition PASOK-Movement for Change Nikos Androulakis said during his speech in Parliament on Wednesday.
Androulakis noted that the consensus exists but there must also be a desire for it, as such challenges require reaching understandings and national solutions.
"The climate crisis cannot be an alibi for all responsibilities. The magic word is 'Resilience'," said the leader of PASOK-KINAL, while criticising the government for an "a la carte" use and discrediting of scientific institutes, such as the Observatory of Athens and the Copernicus system, for their warnings.
"You are not proceeding with reforms, you are content with simple arrangements. Your purpose is not to intervene reformatively to deal with chronic shortcomings, but to make it appear that something is changing while everything remains absolutely the same," underlined Androulakis.
Criticising the government, he said that it has not even identified the risks and that Greece was the only country in the European Union that has not yet updated its Civil Protection maps as it should.
On the disaster in Thessaly, he said that its reconstruction cannot be limited to a water management company but requires a holistic plan, which will include the regeneration of the production model, resilient infrastructure and the revitalisation of economic activity and employment.
